A group of random people find themselves in a world that isn't their own. At first it seems like a pristine untouched expanse of nature but soon after some exploration they come across a village of a bygone age. What they did not find there however led them to an eerie realization - they have yet to find anything living besides themselves. The wind, vegetation and weather fill the calming ambience of this world but there was nothing to find or hear of the animals in the forest, the fish in the water or the people that should have inhabited that village.
They stay for a time to make sense of things and help themselves to the provisions but it doesn't take long for them to accept the world was starkly devoid of life. Not only was this world devoid of life but the things in them felt decidedly unreal. At first bite an apple here tasted just as crisp and was ultimately as any other but an aftertaste of fragile emptiness filled them too. Unnerved by how unreal it all seemed, the group sets out to discover the truth behind their circumstances.
Time passes and they journey across a dry but unchallenging wasteland, a wet but comfortable jungle, a section of a massive modern city just stops and balmy seaside that began right where the city ended. All settings alien to one another and unfeasibly placed. Their new reality now most certainly wrong, they pressed on further until they reached the apparent end of this world where an abyss of nothing greeted them. All that waited for them was a distant glow at the end of the dark.
Shaken by this turn of events, one of them rushes at the darkness in rage but the moment he seems to fall ground begins forming at his feet and a familiar sight springs forth before him. Within minutes, the guy's hometown is recreated as he remembers it but it is disjointed as bits and pieces of the scenery are at odds with the whole. That's when they finally see life again - the town's inhabitants begin filling area to the man's delight. The relief they gain from this gives way to anxiousness however. The man and the town's inhabitants are lively at first but over time their very vitality dwindles away until the man is despondent and can barely remember who he is. Eventually, the man and the people vanish.
The rest of the group remains but a decision roars in the newcome silence: Walk towards the light or wait for a new hope?
